5 Stars Review Life-changing for teachers and children

A very well-written guide to understanding children's behaviour, balanced with personal examples and practical strategies which make it an easy yet potentially life-changing read for teachers and practitioners with all levels of experience.

I would not be surprised if in 5 years time, this book is on every PGCE course reading list in the country - and if it isn't, it should be!

5 Stars ReviewA must-have book for anyone who works with children!

I bought a copy for myself and my Head Teacher. After reading it I bought copies for various colleagues and became an advocate of the book within my school. All of us agreed that it was a really helpful, practical book, that we could easily and instantly apply to our own practice. My Head was so inspired that she then bought a copy for EVERY member of staff - not just class teachers, but teaching assistants, mid-day supervisors, office staff and the parent support advisor. Everyone who read it found it helpful. It was very readable, not like wading through some behaviour text books. We really try to "catch" the good and have introduced a scheme to champion children across the school.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. If you only have one book to refer to regarding behaviour, it needs to be this one!

5 Stars ReviewFantastic!
Extremely practical, informative, challenging and down to earth!

'Will you be the one' is very easy to read and highlights the stark realities that children and young people face beyond the classroom. The author's openness in sharing her own difficulties as a child in school and the impact that 'the one' had on her life, is a very powerful tool. Intermingled with emotive case studies and reflective 'pit stops,' this book goes beyond a 'how to guide' and creates the ideal opportunity for all who work with young people to significantly regard the impact that they too can have through being loving, consistent and hopeful.
